Ash River, Central Vancouver Island, BC
With its source in Strathcona Provincial Park, the Ash River is a small stream that winds its way through numerous lakes and valleys before flowing into the Stamp River, northwest of Port Alberni.

There is good summer steelhead fishing from July to September, fair winter steelhead in February, as well as great numbers of hatchery summer steelhead. Rainbow trout are present in good numbers, with fall runs of chinook and coho salmon.
